Pros and Cons

So I was looking at some list and thinking about the pros and cons and it seems to me that a major thing with lists is there openness to ANYONE. I am aware that discussion boards can be the same but mostly there for members only, which keeps a level of privacy (how ever small that is) since they will need, most of the time, to sign up to post at least.

A pro of lists is I guess the ability to hit a large number of people with your idea where as a discussion board they really have to be interested in that topic to find you.

Another con of lists I saw, when looking at topic, that you have a major topic an then a lot of subtopics and a lot of time the subtopics are not moderated so you end up with things that may be undesired or totally off topic, so you end up searching through a whole bunch of crap to find what your really looking for...

I'm guessing if your looking to keep your correspondence private with a group the best place is a discussion board, that is if your not looking for random out side comments from people that may have nothing more than no idea what your talking about.
1. What information about a user's email, the origin of a message, and the path it took, can you learn from an email message?

I can learn what kind of email service they use if its a free online email or not. If it was forwarded from another address and how many other people may have received the email.

2. In what cases would you find it useful to use the 'cc', 'bcc' and 'reply all functions of email?

The use of "cc" would be to send a copy of a message to someone. "bcc" would be to send a blind copy of a message with out other recipients seeing it, I'm thinking useful for when you emailing a large number of people at the same time but need to send a copy to just one person with out others seeing it . I may have restated that but the point is made.

3. In what ways can you ensure that an attachment you send will be easily opened by the receiver?

Ways to make sure an attachment is easy to open is to use plain txt or (ASCII) as its known or Rich txt file (RTF) also I could find out the recipient software/programs if I plane on sending a lot of emails back and forth. I can also add with the attachment a list of programs and file names that were used in creating the document.

4. What sorts of filters or rules do you have set up, and for what purpose?

I personaly have only spam filters set up. My main email is a free netmail as I have never really liked outlook and I find thet hotmail are very good with running you through stuff like spam filters at set up.

5. How have you organised the folder structure of your email and why?

My files and folders in my email are all set to people i.e. Luke Dee or School, things of that nature keeps it simple for me. I think after having gone through this, in future I may make some files and folders a little more complex as in keeping copys of emails and what not. At this point mostly I read and delete...

So one thing I have learnt is how simple it is to copy a screen on to a blog! Spent for ever tyring to work out why when I paste it doesn't paste as format shows! Anyway resolved that issue and on to the next task...

Creative title... Creative title...

Anyway its interesting to see the background of some of these things that I would have not even bothered to educate my self about! oh yeah the line goes: "so CAPITALIZATION MATTERS!"

I have to be honest and say that I don't feel that I have learned how to use Task A and B's tools yet but I am learning how a seed grows in to an oak! And the Internet is one damn big oak!

I feel like I'm going to need to either use these tools or lose them, because it seems to fully explore there uses you would need hours of play time to understand there applications properly.

All in all I have had a big day and am excited to see what you guys throw at us next!

By the way a little about me.. I'm a High D! Now what this means is I have issues with the tiny details and prefer to get the job done! So if my posts seem short and don't explain enough please go ahead and bring this to my attention. I would be more than happy to try to put more detail if I can (if it's needed)

High on power!

(laughing out loudly!) How cool was that! I sent an email as tho it were from Deakin!
I'm excited about this, I had a lot of fun with that!
While I'm clear I need instructions to guide my safely through programs like that, I still feel I had a lot of fun with that.. I guess I've always watched people typing code and while that wasn't code you can see the parallels, the little black window with none of the frills of searching something through google. Simple, straight to the point and easy to navigate!
Now to be honest I'm not sure where that will come in useful at the moment but I hoping for feedback on that at some point.

So that's the definition of Plagiarism!

I forget that I have a blog but here we are at the start of another school week, I just remembered my Blog so here's my next post for all my loyal viewers! (laughs sarcastically to self)

I always knew that you don't want to copy someones work straight from a book but who knew I could get kicked out of school for it! So as I was taking this quiz/test/learning tool, I began to see how much more work it is to not come up with your own original thoughts! All that quoting and siting and who really wants to give that much credit to someone who, for one thing has all ready gotten credit for that work, and for another only help you in as far as to bring something new to your attention! Anyway the point was made clear to me and now I (hopefully) know what not to do when it comes to writing my next paper. Anyway till next till kiddies.

So this is a blog!...

So this would be a first for me! I would say I use the Internet a fair bit but I've never even looked at a blog! I'm starting to see where this course is taking us, obscure as it my seem now I'm sure by the end of this I'm going to look back and see how new to all this I really am at the moment!

So what have I learned so fare... Well I'll start with what I new already, I hate being late to start something! It leaves you in catch up mode but we do what we must! What else... Well so fare, how to start a blog. I'm sure in a couple more days I'll have more to add to this but for now I'm going to move on to my next step... If I'm able to find it! hahahah
